Uthira Pasupatheeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva situated in the Tiruchengattankudi district of Tamilnadu in Thiruvarur. The place ‘s traditional name is “Ganapatheeswaram.” Uthira Pasupatheeswarar / Ganapatheeswarar is named presiding Deity. Its His Parvati, the consort is known as Vaaitha Tirukuzhal Umai Nayaki. While dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, it is more famous for its Ganesha (Ganapathi) icon Vatapi Ganapathi, purchased from Vatapi (Badami) as a war trophy by Paranjothi, commander of Pallava during the fight with Pulikesin at Narasimha Pallava.

Attached to this shrine is Siruthonda Nayanar. It is dubbed Siruthonda Nayanar’s birthplace. It is considered one of the temples where Lord Shiva (Tiruvilayadal) executed his Holy Action.
