Sri Sangameswarar Temple -Bhavani, Erode,Tamil Nadu(276 Shiva Sthalangal)

Sangameswarar temple is a temple of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in Bhavani, in the Erode district. It is a dedicated Hindu temple to Lord Shiva.

This is one of Kongu Nadu’s 276 Devara Padal Petra Shiva Sthalam, and 3rd Sthalam.

The temple was built at the confluence of Cauvery, Bhavani and ‘Amutha Nathi’ rivers, an intangible source of underground water. So here the Lord Shiva is called Sri Sangameswarar (Sangamam which means confluene).

Bhavani Sangameshwarar temple is an ancient temple which was built by Mahendra Verman, the first Pallava King. The view of this temple from the bird’s eye reveals it as an island surrounded by rivers two.
