Sri Narthana Vallabeswarar Temple - Thiru Koodalaiyatrur,Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu(276 Shiva Sthalangal)

This is one of Nadu Naadu’s 276 Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalams, and 3rd Shiva Sthalam. Lord Shiva in this temple is a (self-manifested) Swayambumurthi. This temple was damaged by Manimuthaaru River floods and was rebuilt afterwards.

This temple has a single corridor and its main tower (Rajagopuram) has 3-tiers.

Koodalaiyatrur is on the confluence of the Vellaaru, Manimuthaaru and Akaya Ganges rivers (an unseen river), hence the location is known as Koodalaiyatrur and “Thiruveni Sangamam.” Also known as “Dakshina Prayagai,” this position is as the river flows from south to north.

Lords Amutha Vinayakar, Kasi Viswanathar, Murugan with his consorts, Natarajar, Dhakshinamoorthy, Lingothbavar, Brahma, Vishnu, Kala Bairavar, Bairavar, Suryan, Chandran, Chandikeswarar, Ashta buja Durgai can be seen in the outer corridor.
