Nageswaraswamy Temple, Kumbakonam is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva situated in Thanjavur district of Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu , India. In the canonical work of Tamil Saiva of the 7th century, the Tevaram, written by Tamil poet saints known as the Nayanars and graded as Paadal Petra Sthalam, the presiding deity is venerated.

This is one of the 276 Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalams and 27th Shiva Sthalam at Chozha Nadu (Thenkarai) on the southern bank of the Cauveri River.

The last Ceremony of Consecration (Maha Kumbabishekam) took place on 07.02.2003 and in the year 1988 before that.

Kumbakonam is situated on the banks of the Cauveri River, popularly known as the “Temple City” The rivers of Cauvery and Arasalaru flow in such a way that they look like garlands which adorn this location.
