Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the earliest temples in India built in the 16th century. The temple is located at a distance of 10 km from Palampur, 24 km from Kangra and 15 km from Dharamshala in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda in the form of Goddess Kali. Chamunda Devi Temple is also known as Chamunda Nandikeswar Tham. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Shakti reside in this temple. Lord Shiva resides in the form of Nivikeswar near this temple. The temple is located on the banks of the river Banganga (Baner).
