Sri Kshetra Pandharpur is a well-known pilgrimage town, a city on the banks of the Chandrabhaga River in Solapur district, Maharashtra , India. It is a major holy place in Maharashtra, and is also called South Kashi in Maharashtra. It is famous for the temple of the Lord Vitthal situated on the bank of the river Bhima. Also known as Chandrabhaga is the river Bhima, because it takes shape like a crescent moon near the town.
