Chennai To Shirdi Trip:

  • Chennai:

Chennai is one of Tamil Nadu’s most important cities. It also harbours flourishing technology , making it one of Asia’s largest IT parks. With Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram nearby it is pacing up as India’s cultural centre. This city has genuinely maintained its charm during its journey from Madras to become a Chennai.Between February and October the perfect time to visit Chennai is the winter and pre-monsoon season. The weather is very nice during this time of year which gives you the opportunity to explore this city at its best.

Viswaroopa Adhivyadhihara Sri Bhaktha Anjaneyaswami:

Sculpted from a single rock, Sri Anjaneyar’s 32-foot idol is the main highlight of this temple, and is believed to have healing powers. People come here at Nanganallur to worship for good health. You ‘d also find Sri Rama’s idols here, Sri Lakshmana, Seetha with Sri Anjaneyar, Sri Vinayagar.

Queens Land Survey

Go mad on a roller-coaster, catch a panoramic view of a cable car, splash at the water ride in the Himalayas or get confused at the Mirror Building. With over 50 attractions spread over an area of 70 acres, this amusement park is a huge draw for both adults and children alike. There are also food and drink outlets inside the park. Founded by Rajam Hotel in 2003.

MGM Dizzieworld:

With more than 60 attractions including both fun and water rides, MGM offers everyone an exciting experience. Maryworld is the most common place for children to enjoy rides and encounter nursery rhyme characters such as Giant Boot, Humpty Dumpty and Pumpkins, to name a few.

Shirdi:

Shri Tatya Kote Samadhi is near Lendi Baug, and belongs to one of Sai Baba’s most ardent devotees. People visit this place to pay respect to one of the greatest devotees of Baba, and darshan is easily possible here, since the place is not crowded.

The Sai Heritage Village in Shirdi is a rare mix of nature’s beauty and Sai Baba’s blessings. It highlights the major events that took place in the form of statues during Sai Baba ‘s lifetime, and visitors feel as if those moments have come to life right before their eyes.

One of the country’s most significant pilgrimage centres, Shirdi is frequented almost daily by thousands of devotees. A devoted worshipper will also be the happiest shopper, as Shirdi has markets with the largest range of effigies and photographs from Sai Baba. Shop rows line up the streets which lead to the temple serving as great places to shop for gifts as well.

Maharaj Ashram upasani, Shirdi:

The ashram is of a 20th-century saint, named Maharaj Upasani. Sai Baba was an ardent disciple. Situated off the state highway of Shirdi-Ahmednagar, the ashram contains the Maharaj samadhi and one of his disciples.

Palki procession on Thursday, Shirdi overview:

He was brought there in a palki procession from the Dwarkamai masjid during the days when Sainath stayed alternate nights in Chavadi. The same procession that took place then is still conducted with the same enthusiasm and veneration every Thursday, even today.

Pune is situated in Maharashtra state, the eighth largest metropolises in India. After Mumbai it is the second largest city in the state, and is a significant city in terms of economic and industrial development. Once Marathas’ hometown and the Maratha Empire’s centre of power, the presence of numerous buildings in Pune connects with its rich and glorious history. The city leads as the ‘veritable heartland’ of cultural Maharashtra. Pune also has made its mark as the educational epicenter winning itself the sobriquet, ‘The Oxford of the East’. Not just that, it has a growing industrial hinterland, with information technology, engineering and automotive companies sprouting. Vetal Tekdi is one of the most popular landmarks of Pune. It envelops the whole city, and is an incredible place to spend an early morning or evening. It is known by different names like Hanuman Tekdi, MIT Tekdi and Pashan Tekdi.

Lal Mahal is a 16th century historic landmark, situated near Shaniwar Wada in Pune. The palace has important tales to tell, subject to numerous attacks and initial revivals. For his family to remain in the 1630s it was first restored by Shivaji ‘s father Shahaji Bhosle.

Bhimashankar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered as one of the 12 holy Jyotirlinga shrines in India, and five in Maharashtra. The other shrines of Jyotirlinga in Maharashtra are Vaidyanath near Parli, Trimbakeshwara near Nashik, Grishneshwar near Aurangabad and Temple of Aundha Nagnath in Hingoli. Bhimashankar is also the source of the Bhima river that flows southeast.

Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is located on Shukrawar Peth in Pune, at a distance of 4 km from Pune Junction and 1.5 km from Shaniwar Wada Fort. It is one of the outstanding Maharashtra museums.The three-story museum includes almost 20,000 artefacts such as drawings, handicrafts, armour-suits, musical instruments and many other items collected from all over the world.

Pataleshwar Cave Temple is an ancient rock cut cave temple situated in the Shivajinagar area of Pune, at a distance of 3 km from Pune Junction.The temple is also known as the Temple of Panchaleshvara or Bamburde and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. During the Rashtrakutas period the rock-cut cave temple was carved out in the 8th century A.D. The cave temple bears similarities to Ellora ‘s rock-cut temples.

Shirdi is a holy place where the revered saint Sai Baba lived and achieved many miracles. The very name Shirdi symbolises the almighty force of faith that exists in human hearts. The town of Shiridi is situated in Maharashtra district of Rahata Tahasil, in Ahmednagar. There is also a temple dedicated to Sai Baba in the town. The temple has a lovely idole and  samadhi of saibaba.

The two silver pillars are situated in front of Sai Baba’s samadhi, which are beautifully decorated with stunning designs. Sai Baba’s life-sized idol is made from Italian marble, enshrined within the temple in 1954. In front of the temple is an assembly hall which houses numerous articles once used by Saibaba.

The time taken to line up for the Samadhi Temple and have darshan varies. It can be completed in one hour, or can take up to six hours. The average time is 2-3 hours. All the main attractions related to Sai Baba are within walking distance of the temple.
