While maybe Bangalore (Bengaluru) is well known as the tech hub of India, there is definitely so much more to offer! Bangalore is renowned for its nightlife, parks, holy sites, The word “Bangalore” is an anglicized version of a Kannada word, “Bengalooru.” In fact, the term “Bengalooru” was derived from the expression “bende kaalu ooru,” which means “the city of boiled beans.” A hunting expedition by King Ballala of the Hoysala empire, who lost his way in the jungle, is said to be the tale behind naming the city as the ‘city of boiling beans.’ An old woman who took mercy on a starving and exhausted hunter stayed deep within the forest. The old woman was weak and had little left to take away from her.
